Cafes, Tearooms & Snack Bars around Corsham

The Cafe Corsham

1b High St, Corsham SN13 0ES, UK – 01249 712554

I visit the cafe at least once a week and the staff are always friendly and willing to engage in conversation, they are also patient and helpful and willing to explain the dishes on offer. Vegetarian meals can be found here also vegan ones. My latest visit was on the 16-06-18 which was the taste of Corsham event so it was busy. Reservations can be made and events can be held here. Food is always well cooked and a good selection is available. There is no disabled access as the Cafe is upstairs and due to the building a lift is not possible.

Just finished what was once again, a very delicious and cooked meal of ham, egg and chips. Everytime I visit Corsham, this is the place that I go into to have some food. Great service, not long to wait for food. Only ten minutes today, despite the busy tables. Friendly and welcoming, recommended for all. Warning: there are no lifts to get into the cafe so do watch the stairs!

The Toast Office

Tongs

1 High St, Corsham SN13 0ES, UK – 01249 701150

Picked up my fish and chips tonight and a tongs didn't disappoint.! Dried up, over cooked chips, not fresh at all. None of my family ate them... I understand Corsham might be getting another fish and chip shop can't wait!

Good chippy nicely battered fish reasonabley priced

Harp & Crown Inn

Velly Hil, Corsham, North Corsham SN13 9PU, UK – 01249 715697

Good service, with good selection of tables, ie in a nook, or more open area. The best fish and chips, and seafood dish with seasonal veg! The batter on the huge fish was the lightest and crispiest . . . Well worth it!!

Stopped en-pasant because I noticed the Cask Marque Ale Trail plaque. A very agreeable Ramsbury RPA 4% (hand crafted from plough to pint - apparently) Stockclose Farm, Wiltshire. The pub is part of the Wickwar stable and is a large establishment, no accommodation, despite its size, but lunches until 15:00 and the again in the evening.

The Quarryman's Arms

Box Hill, Corsham SN13 8HN, UK – 01225 743569

My wife and I were visitors and our b&b recommended the quarryman's arm for our evening meal. So pleased we followed the advice. What a gem in all aspects. We were made to feel very welcome and that our custom was appreciated. ,The food was exceptional and well presented. Service attentive but not pushy. Overall, the best dining out experience we have had for a long time. Thankyou. Sheila & David from Sussex

The Quarryman's was recommended to us by our B&B host, and it was simply superb. Stunning views across the valley, delicious reasonably priced food, and excellent staff. I too would highly recommend, and I would suggest booking (if possible)

Grounded Corsham

The Old Chapel, Pickwick Rd, Corsham SN13 0HL, UK – 01249 715555

Update! - Grounded has improved after this review was posted. The menu has been decreased but the quality of food is a lot better. The cafe is cleaner and the prices have dropped a little. This is because of new management. Original review- Grounded is not always the best place to eat but because it’s the only place open on Sunday it’s got the monopoly. Most of the time it’s dirty and so are the tables. The staff look overworked and under appreciated and I feel sorry for them. There is not a very good selection available and prices are extremely expensive for extremely average food and not worth the money. The breakfast are good but of course expensive and small for what your paying. Only visit if you want a considerably lighter wallet.

Really nice in there, they've made it look like a typical Grounded so its nice and chilled. I love that they welcome in well behaved dogs even with some dog snacks on the bar! Lovely outdoor seating area and its in a central but peaceful location in town! Amazing pizza and a good selection of draught beer and cider. For afters, the cakes all look so inviting!

Chinese Takeaways

Delicious House

67 High St, Corsham SN13 0EZ, UK – 01249 701881

Superb food. I travel from the other side of Chippenham to get my takeaways from here, as it really is that good. The waiting area is quite small, but has comfortable seats and a daily paper or two. I normally phone first, so I spend very little time waiting anyway. The only downside is that they don't take cards, so remember to go to the cash point before you arrive.

The new salt and pepper box is amazing! A lovely selection and at a good price.

Hong Kong House Takeaway

29 Pickwick Rd, Corsham SN13 9BQ, UK – 01249 713963

UPDATE Still ordering and no problems as of late. Cheap and cheerful. Some times I feel slightly rushed to pay n leave. ? Maybe just me. Food used to be Tasteless but recently it's great. Don't order the mixed ordourves was rather tiny. and not worth it. Everything has MSG in it and you can tell. Eaten here about 10 -15 times as it's my local and I like to stick to same takeaway.

I am part of a BT group that regularly buy from Hong Kong House. Their range of meals are superb. Often coming up with new menu items. Their roast chicken in sauce with chips, or their salt n pepper chips or pepper / black bean sauce with chips and meat are absolutely superb. Always friendly, welcoming and best Chinese in the area. Thank you guys for your excellent meals.

Imperial Garden

23 High St, Corsham SN13 0ES, UK – 01249 701688

We had the most marvelous meal with our friends and the staff very good.would recommend a visit.

Always great food, lovely place. Shame that it is always so cold inside the restaurant! Only downside. Other than that, the young lady working at the restaurant (she served us this evening) was an absolute credit to the business and very polite and friendly.

Indian Takeaways

Haques

82 High St, Corsham SN13 0HF, UK – 01249 701212

Great Indian food and helpful staff. We went in person to order a takeaway, which allowed us to discuss their Gluten Free options, which aren't hilighted on the menu. They said, the whole menu was GF, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was very high quality, and reasonably priced.

Basic surroundings but attentive staff and decent food

Takeaway Food

Corsham’s Jaipur Takeaway

1a High St, Corsham SN13 0ES, UK – 01249 701000

Best take away in Wiltshire. Absolutely love their food, it's so tasty. I would eat it everyday if I could !

Never had a takeaway curry before where rice wasn't included 😂 also disappointed with the samosas as you only get two in the bag! I don't know why I had random salad that came in what looked like a dog poop bag either. The counter is fairly unprofessional at the moment, hopefully that improves. But the flavours of the food more than made up with the issues.

The Bengal Bear

1 High St, Box, Corsham SN13 8NJ, UK – 01225 743126

Stumbled across this little gem whilst on holiday. Honestly the best curry I have ever tasted. If I could transport it to my town, I would. Point to note, they don't hold a licence so you need to bring your own alcohol.

Excellent food, not long to wait for it and friendly staff.
